Rock Creek Care Center Programs Director

Alexis joined the Rock Creek staff in April 2005 to oversee the Care Center ministries such as the food bank, CareerLink Workshop and the computer lab.  With Food Bank ministry, she manages a staff of volunteers who dedicate their time on a daily basis to gather donated food, fill food boxes and assist people in need.  With the CareerLink Workshop, she trains and mentors people who are unemployed providing them encouragement to develop a life plan and a career path.  Through these and other Rock Creek programs, she sees the hope given to the people in our community.

Since she grew up in Victoria, Texas, Alexis says that she is "truly a Texan at heart".  In Victoria, she developed a passion for basketball at an early age.  She played throughout high school and was awarded a full basketball scholarship to Texas Tech University where she received a degree in Human Development & Family Studies, a minor in Social Work and a certificate in Substance Abuse.  After college, Alexis applied her love for basketball, children and God by working at "Kids Across America Camp" — a Christian sports camp for inner-city kids.  Alexis had the honor of becoming the camp's first female director.  The combination of being a basketball player and a Christian surfaced once more when she became involved with "Athletes in Action".  Through this program, she traveled to Brazil, Peru, Czechoslovakia, Moscow and Australia to play basketball and share God's Word.

Alexis is also an established singer and is a member of contemporary worship singing group called Chosen Daughters.  The group has traveled around Arkansas performing at various conferences and churches. She also spends her time at schools speaking to students about the choice of abstinence. After work hours, it's not unusual to find Alexis giving basketball lessons or enjoying her newest hobby - bike riding.
