Email When Mary began attending services at Rock Creek in early 2001, she owned her own travel agency. After 9/11, she was forced to close her doors after 10 years of business. Being one of her clients, Mark Evans approached her about working for the church. In April, 2002 Mary became Mark Evans' and Greg Kirksey's Administrative Assistant. She enjoys the daily challenges that occur when assisting two pastors of a rapidly growing church. She also manages the church secretaries with their increasing responsibilities.
Mary also volunteers by heading up Rock Creek's In-Touch
Ministry which provides meals for
the
people of Rock Creek and their families during celebration of a
new baby and in times of serious illness, surgery, and death.
She manages a group of volunteers who assist in meal
preparation, delivery and serving. She loves extending
God's love and compassion into homes and nursing homes during
these times. She says, "When our ministry helps someone
with a meal during
their time of sorrow or need, you just can’t help but feel that
in this small way that it’s God’s hand in play."
She has two children, Jason (31) and Allie (25). Jason is
married to Misty Millard who is one of Rock Creek's secretaries.
They have a daughter Kaley (6) who is Mary's "light of my life".
Mary's daughter Allie lives in Austin, TX, has a degree in
business and hopes to own her own business one day. Mary loves to read anything and everything. She
has three cats... one year old Bitzy; Mama Cat who is a stray
who would never leave; and Sugars who is older and meaner than
dirt. |
