Tonya Peebles | EmailAdministrative Assistant Tonya first visited Rock Creek eight years ago when she and her daughter, Payton, were searching for a new church. Tonya felt that it was important for her six year old daughter to also love church, so they decided they both needed to be in agreement on the change. Rock Creek was the first church where they both said "Yes!". Tonya was the Care Center Administrative Assistant for four years until February 2008 when she accepted the job as Executive Pastor Sean McKean's Administrative Assistant. Tonya has been involved in the Children's Ministry for the past seven years. Every Sunday morning she can be found reading bible stories and doing crafts with the two year olds. "I always wanted to be a teacher, so I think that's why I enjoy being a Sunday School teacher so much. I especially love the hugs and kisses the two year olds give me! I just love how they get so excited to learn. It's like they're little sponges." Tonya has also been a Life Group leader for seven years to a group of 11 women. Every week she looks forward to the group meeting at her house. She feels that it's wonderful that all the women have become close friends and are able to rely on each other. Tonya grew up on a farm in Gregory, AR where her family had cattle and grew cotton and soybean. She misses the country life often and hopes to return to it someday. Tonya and her 14 year old daughter, Payton, live in Little Rock along with their six year old Beagle, Bessie. She loves planting flowers in her yard, playing board games, Sunday afternoon naps, and taking Payton on car rides through the country. Tonya's favorite movie is "The Last of the Mohicans." |
